Frequently Asked Questions

When should I enrol?

Our Pre-GCSE course is suitable for Year 7, 8 and 9. The aim of this course is to well prepare your child for their Maths and English GCSEs from Year 10 onwards so that they are in the top sets at school.

Parents are welcome to enrol their child with us at any stage of the year but we do recommend starting in Year 7 in order to allow your child to be fully prepared for their GCSEs.

What is the ratio in the classes?

Class sizes are a maximum of 10 students with each group being led by a tutor with two mentors on hand to help out. As a result, we will always provide a minimum of 1:4 ratio with our Pre-GCSE students.

How do I get feedback on how my child is doing?

Our tutors feedback at the end of every lesson to parents. They will explain what was covered in the lesson and what homework has been set.

If you would like to get some feedback, your tutor will be more than happy to speak to you at the end of the lesson as to how your child is getting on.

How are lessons paid for?

Lessons are paid for monthly in advance via direct debit or with childcare vouchers. We are proudly OFSTED registered meaning that we are able to accept a variety of childcare vouchers such as:

  • Government Tax Free Childcare Scheme
  • Edenred
  • Computershare
  • Bravo Benefits
  • CCGPS
  • KiddiVouchers
  • Sodexo
  • Co-op

How are the lessons structured?

Our Pre-GCSE lessons run for two hours once per week. During this time, we will cover Maths and English. We work a step up from the National Curriculum to ensure that your child is well prepared for school.

The lessons for this class are tailored on a week by week basis depending on the needs of the students. This level of flexibility allows for each student to receive the support they deserve.

Your child will then go home feeling confident, happy and clever. They will have homework to complete and spellings to learn for their next lesson.
