Frequently Asked Questions
When should I enrol my child for tuition?
It’s best to enrol your child for Maths tuition as soon as you notice they need extra support, want to boost their confidence, or are preparing for important exams like SATs, 11+, GCSEs, or other assessments.
Early enrolment allows consistent progress and builds a strong foundation over time. However, it’s never too late to start—our flexible online group classes can help at any stage of your child’s learning journey.
Before enrolling, we do require that your child completes an assessment with us. This will allow us to see what level they are currently working at in Maths and plan out the next steps in their educational journey.
Our assessments are held in person at our centre in Colchester. If you are unable to get to Colchester, please contact our office directly for other options.
How are the lessons structured?
Our lessons run for two hours once per week.
Our online Maths group tuition lessons are carefully structured to maximize understanding and engagement.
Each session typically begins with a recap of previous material, followed by introducing new concepts through clear explanations and interactive activities.
Students then work through practice problems, with guidance and feedback from the tutor.
Your child will then finish their lesson feeling confident, happy and clever. They will have a little bit of homework to complete and spellings to learn for their next lesson.
What are the class sizes?
Class sizes are a maximum of 8 students with each group being led by one of our tutors.
How do I get feedback on how my child is doing?
For our online classes, we ask that you contact our office when you would like feedback on your child's progress in our online classes.
We will then either pass on feedback from your tutor or we will arrange for a phone call with them.
How are lessons paid for?
Lessons are paid for monthly in advance via direct debit or with childcare vouchers.
We are proudly OFSTED registered meaning that we are able to accept a variety of childcare vouchers such as:
- Government Tax Free Childcare Scheme
- Edenred
- Computershare
- Bravo Benefits
- CCGPS
- KiddiVouchers
- Sodexo
- Co-op
If you do not see your voucher scheme that you would like to use above, please do let us know and we can then look in to it for you.
