Frequently Asked Questions

How are the lessons structured?

Our Year 6 lessons run for two hours once per week. During this time, we will cover Maths, English and some small science topics.

Our Year 6 classes work at a higher level than school, meaning that your child will always feel prepared and clever.

Our students will be taught many new topics and whilst also reinforcing older ones learnt previously through a variety of fun, interactive and educational activities. There will also be a strong focus on exam practice, timings and techniques so that students feel comfortable when sitting their SATs exams.

Your child will then go home feeling confident, happy and clever. They will have some homework to complete and spellings to learn for their next lesson.

What is the ratio in the classes?

Class sizes are a maximum of 10 students with each group being led by a tutor with two mentors on hand to help out. As a result, we will always provide a minimum of 1:4 ratio for our Year 6 students.

How do I get feedback on how my child is doing?

Our tutors feedback at the end of every lesson to parents. They will explain what was covered in the lesson and what homework has been set.

If you would like to get some feedback, your tutor will be more than happy to speak to you at the end of the lesson as to how your child is getting on.

How are lessons paid for?

Lessons are paid for monthly in advance via direct debit or with childcare vouchers. We are proudly OFSTED registered meaning that we are able to accept a variety of childcare vouchers such as:

  • Government Tax Free Childcare Scheme
  • Edenred
  • Computershare
  • Bravo Benefits
  • CCGPS
  • KiddiVouchers
  • Sodexo
  • Co-op
