Frequently Asked Questions

How are the lessons structured?

Our 11+ Extra English lessons run for two hours once per week for Years 3,4 and 5.

These lessons are designed to give support to children sitting the 11+ exam who would like that extra boost in English.

As well as going over what has been taught in their group classes, these lessons will also go over and reinforce the foundations of English (reading, writing, spelling and grammar).

Students will also cover how the English 11+ exam works with a focus on techniques, timings and understanding how the marking system works.

What is the ratio in the classes?

Class sizes are a maximum of 10 students with each group being led by a tutor with two mentors on hand to help out. As a result, we will always provide a minimum of 1:4 ratio with 11+ students.

How do I get feedback on how my child is doing?

Our tutors feedback at the end of every lesson to parents. They will explain what was covered in the lesson and what homework has been set.

If you would like to get some feedback, your tutor will be more than happy to speak to you at the end of the lesson as to how your child is getting on.

How are lessons paid for?

Lessons are paid for monthly in advance via direct debit or with childcare vouchers. We are proudly OFSTED registered meaning that we are able to accept a variety of childcare vouchers such as:
