Year 3 11+ Tuition

Year 3 11+ Tuition

Key Stage 2 Is Your Chance To Give Your Child A Head Start

Year 3 is a crucial year for your child to gain the foundation stones in Maths and English.

Confidence at this stage means children are open to learning and enjoy school.

We embed times tables knowledge, the four rules of Maths and number bonding skills, as well as teaching application of skills with written questions.

In English, our students gain amazing comprehension skills and we always makes links from what is being read to what they already know. This application of general knowledge prepares students for the 11+ years.

By using a growth mind-set, your child will be able to confidently work through questions.

Lessons follow the National Curriculum while working one step ahead, this ensures our students can raise their hands to answer questions in school with confidence and are ready for our 11+ programme.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should my child start 11+ tuition?

Our 11+ course starts in Year 3 and we recommend that all parents start tuition for the 11+ then.

Starting in Year 3 will provide your child with the best possible opportunity to gain a place at one of the Grammar Schools in Essex.

How are the lessons structured?

Our Year 3 11+ lessons run for two hours once per week. During this time, we will cover Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning.

Our Year 3 11+ classes work at a higher level than school, meaning that your child will always feel prepared and clever in their school lessons.

Our students will be taught many topics in Year 3 through a variety of fun, interactive and educational activities.

Your child will then go home feeling confident, happy and clever. They will have some homework to complete and spellings to learn for their next lesson.

What is the ratio in the classes?

Class sizes are a maximum of 10 students with each group being led by a tutor with two mentors on hand to help out. As a result, we will always provide a minimum of 1:4 ratio with 11+ students.

How do I get feedback on how my child is doing?

Our tutors feedback at the end of every lesson to parents. They will explain what was covered in the lesson and what homework has been set.

If you would like to get some feedback, your tutor will be more than happy to speak to you at the end of the lesson as to how your child is getting on.

How are lessons paid for?

Lessons are paid for monthly in advance via direct debit or with childcare vouchers. We are proudly OFSTED registered meaning that we are able to accept a variety of childcare vouchers such as:

  • Government Tax Free Childcare Scheme
  • Edenred
  • Computershare
  • Bravo Benefits
  • KiddiVouchers
  • Sodexo
  • Co-op
