Jacqui Robinson Education

Year 4 11+ Tuition

Year 4 11+ Tuition

Key Stage 2 Is Your Chance To Give Your Child A Head Start

Preparing children in Year 4 ensures that when they enter the Grammar School they have not just been crammed for an exam.

Our students head to Grammar School fully prepared for a happy, fulfilling educational journey.

Here at Jacqui Robinson Education, we teach in small groups with lots of individual attention; the small groups means that children get used to working with other bright children and are therefore able to cope well with a Grammar School environment.

We introduce gentle, kind competition, peer group awareness and a love of learning which means our students have self-confidence and robustness.

In Year 4, we ensure all the foundations for an advanced education are fully embedded. In one session per week, we teach Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning.

We start at the level that your child will need and with kindness, understanding and genuine care we introduce new topics and regularly revise previous topics.

Programs are constantly being written to accommodate your child's individual needs and the teacher will feedback to you at the end of each 2-hour session when you collect your child.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should my child start 11+ tuition?

Our 11+ course starts from Year 3 and we recommend that all parents start tuition for the 11+ as soon as possible.

This will provide your child with the best possible opportunity to gain a place at one of the Grammar Schools in Essex.

How are the lessons structured?

Our Year 4 11+ lessons run for two hours once per week. During this time, we will cover Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning.

Our Year 4 11+ classes work at a higher level than school, meaning that your child will always feel prepared and clever in their school lessons.

Our students will be taught many new topics and also revise older ones in Year 4 through a variety of fun, interactive and educational activities. We will also begin to introduce the format and style of the 11+ exam so that students feel comfortable when moving up to Year 5.

Your child will then go home feeling confident, happy and clever. They will have some homework to complete and spellings to learn for their next lesson.

What is the ratio in the classes?

Class sizes are a maximum of 10 students with each group being led by a tutor with two mentors on hand to help out. As a result, we will always provide a minimum of 1:4 ratio with 11+ students.

How do I get feedback on how my child is doing?

Our tutors feedback at the end of every lesson to parents. They will explain what was covered in the lesson and what homework has been set.

If you would like to get some feedback, your tutor will be more than happy to speak to you at the end of the lesson as to how your child is getting on.

How are lessons paid for?

Lessons are paid for monthly in advance via direct debit or with childcare vouchers. We are proudly OFSTED registered meaning that we are able to accept a variety of childcare vouchers such as:

  • Government Tax Free Childcare Scheme
  • Edenred
  • Computershare
  • Bravo Benefits
  • CCGPS
  • KiddiVouchers
  • Sodexo
  • Co-op
