Where Are They Now: How Jacqui Robinson Education has helped these former students

Anna Hinsley Hydrological and Meteorological Officer - Royal Navy

I started tuition with Jacqui when I was in Year 5 for 11+ tuition (my school teacher had laughed at my mum when she had said she was entering me for the 11+). With Jacqui's help and support I passed the exam and was accepted at CCHS. She also helped me secure a scholarship for St Mary's by giving me practice interviews and training for the exams.

Once at CCHS I continued my tuition with Jacqui. Being dyslexic the school didn't know how to best support me, however Jacqui was able to. She taught me techniques on how best to learn and complete exams, as well as how my dyslexia should never hold me back and that I could do anything I wanted to! I even got an A for my GCSE English! Following my GCSEs I began to work a Saturday job for Jacqui marking books, this lead to me helping out in classes, to then getting to mentor students. By the time I had graduated university Jacqui offered me my first full time job, whilst I was pursuing my application for the Navy.

She has taught me not only academic skills but also life skills which I use every single day. I would not be where I am today without her support.

I am currently under training in the Royal Navy to become a Hydrological and Meteorological Officer. I have now been in the Navy for 2 years and it is my dream job! I passed the first phase of my training with the highest academic scores of my intake (averaging over 95%!) I use the skills, coping mechanisms and ethos that Jacqui taught me everyday. I honestly cannot thank her and the team enough!

Matt Read MBChB Medicine - University of Manchester

Having started at Jacqui Robinson Education in Year 3 (roughly 2008), I spent 4 years prepping for my 11 Plus. I never would have gotten into Colchester Royal Grammar School - let alone medical school - without the academic support from Jacqui and her team!

Not only did I learn the academic skills necessary to get to where I am today, but I have also learnt how to be a disciplined and efficient worker, both of which are paramount to success! Thank you Jacqui!

I have just finished my first year studying medicine at the University of Manchester after achieving 3As at A Level - studying chemistry, biology and music. The end aim is to be a doctor specialising in emergency medicine.

Kieran Jones Apprentice - Marketing Company

I began having maths tuition with Jacqui Robinson Education to ensure that I would pass my foundation maths GCSE. After a year of tuition with one of her employees, Jerome, I was put forward for the higher maths paper, and subsequently got a higher grade than I ever thought I would. This allowed me to study for my A levels at Colchester Sixth Form College. I am very thankful for all the hard work Jacqui and her team put in to help me succeed. Personally, I don’t believe I would be in the position I am in now if it wasn’t for Jerome’s guidance.

Following my tuition, I secured an apprenticeship at the Colchester Institute in digital marketing where I am learning to explore the different avenues within the industry. My apprenticeship has also allowed me to secure a position for a digital marketing agency overseeing the social media platforms for multiple clients, with the aim to drive business and engagement for those businesses.

All of this has been made possible with the help and tuition of Jerome and the team Jacqui has in place.
