- You receive your child’s papers and mark schemes within a week
- You receive online lessons and worksheets within a week
- Children receive gifts for attending and always leave happy
When Are the Exams?
For the 2026–2027 academic year, we will be running two full CSSE-style mock examinations in a large external examination hall on the following dates:
- Sunday 13th June 2027
- Sunday 29th August 2027
A personalised mock-exam experience designed to help your child improve, not simply receive a result.
The Mock Examinations have proven to be a great success in preparing students for the real CSSE 11+ Exam.
Although usually nervous when they arrive, students soon settle down.
Once having sat the papers, they leave happy and confident. We keep the atmosphere just like the 11+ actual exam. Drop off, collection and seating are similar to that of the real proceedings. This provides a good experience for parents and children.
The aims of the 11+ mock exams are:
- To build confidence for the actual exam
- To overcome the fear and apprehension of the exam
- To receive a full, detailed, written report on the exam
- To set clear targets for improvement and enable pupils to work on any weaker areas
- To demonstrate to pupils how sitting two exams at one time affects their performance
If your child's mock exam identifies areas that need further development, our 11+ School Holiday Intensive Courses provide focused teaching in English, Maths and exam technique during the school holidays.
Who can sit the 11+ mock exams?
Year 4 and Year 5 students who are looking to do the CSSE 11+ Exam are welcome to sit our 11+ Mock Exams.
Year 4 students have their own papers written to reflect the Year 4 syllabus, which is similar to the Year 5 syllabus with easier questions.
For families looking for ongoing 11+ preparation, see our 11+ Tuition programmes throughout the school year.
Visiting students are always welcome. The team will make them relaxed and look after them every step of the way.
A large cohort of students gives a realistic feel and an excellent indication of where a student stands in comparison to their peers.
For additional practice between mock examinations, you can also use our CSSE 11+ Mock Exam Practice Papers at home.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are our CSSE 11+ mock exams?
Our CSSE 11+ mock exams are designed to give children realistic experience of sitting the Essex 11+ examination. The mocks follow the CSSE-style English and Maths format and are conducted under timed examination conditions, giving children the opportunity to practise working under the same type of pressure they will experience in the real examination.
Who can sit the CSSE 11+ mock exams?
Our mock exams are open to Year 4 and Year 5 pupils preparing for the Essex CSSE 11+ examination. Children do not need to attend Jacqui Robinson Education Centre to take part — visiting students are very welcome.
Where are the mock exams held?
Our large mock examinations are held in an external examination hall at Marks Tey Parish Hall. Using a large examination venue allows children to experience a realistic environment, including unfamiliar surroundings, formal seating arrangements and the atmosphere of sitting an examination alongside a large number of other pupils.
What happens during the mock exam?
Children are registered and seated before completing their English and Maths papers under timed examination conditions. Our aim is to make the experience as realistic as possible while ensuring children are supported and know what to expect throughout the process.
Why is it useful for my child to sit a mock exam?
A mock exam gives your child the opportunity to experience the examination environment before the real CSSE. It can help them develop confidence, improve time management and understand how they perform when working under timed conditions.
It can also highlight areas where further preparation is needed, allowing you to address these before the real examination.
What will I receive after the mock exam?
You will receive your child's completed papers and mark schemes, together with a detailed written report showing their performance and position against their peers.
We also send you online teaching videos and targeted practice worksheets based on areas where your child needs further development. This means the mock doesn't simply give you a score, it gives you practical information about what your child should work on next.
How soon will I receive my child's results?
We aim to provide your child's results, report and supporting materials within 7 days of the mock examination.
Should my child sit more than one mock exam?
Sitting more than one mock can be very beneficial. The first mock can help your child become familiar with the examination environment and identify areas for improvement. A later mock then provides an opportunity to see whether their confidence, technique and performance have improved.
Our two 2027 mock examinations are scheduled to give children the opportunity to experience the demands of the examination more than once during their preparation.
What makes a Jacqui Robinson Education mock different?
We have been preparing children for the Essex 11+ for over 40 years, giving us extensive experience of the demands of the CSSE examination.
Our mocks are designed to be more than simply a practice paper. We provide a realistic examination experience followed by detailed feedback, peer comparison and personalised follow-up teaching and practice, helping you understand not only how your child performed, but also how they can improve.
My child is nervous about sitting a mock exam. Should they still take part?
It's completely normal for children to feel nervous before their first mock exam. One of the benefits of taking part is that it gives them the opportunity to experience an examination environment before the real CSSE. Many children find that their confidence improves considerably once they know what to expect.
