Confidence Building

Confidence Building

Building confidence in your child is the key to success in school.

Students need self confidence. In a large class, at school, it is easy to feel that other students are progressing faster and understanding more. This can quickly lead to a downward spiral in self-esteem and an early dislike of subjects such as Maths and English.

Self confidence comes from seeing themselves progress, learn and gain praise from their teacher and the other students in their group. Small group tuition is perfect for this. Students work with a tutor, sitting around a small table together, the work is achievable and carefully structured to progress skills at an impressive rate.

A growth mind-set for 11+ students to succeed

The core to all learning is a growth mind-set. The knowledge that no one knows everything. It is good to make mistakes as success can only happen if we keep trying. If something goes wrong, our tutors step in immediately and works with the student until they succeed. It is then important that the non 11+ and 11+ student is given the opportunity to do the work successfully, on their own. Students always leave class with more skills than they came in with.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are the lessons structured?

We create customized learning plans based on each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. Whether it’s GCSEs, Maths, English, SATs, or 11+ preparation, we adapt our approach to meet your child’s specific needs. Lessons start from 1 hour per week but can be increased upon request.

If you are looking for 1:1 lessons for 11+ preparation, a minimum of 2 hours per week is required if you are not doing a group class alongside.

How do I get feedback on how my child is doing?

Our tutors feedback at the end of every lesson to parents. They will explain what was covered in the lesson and what homework has been set.
